Modern Slavery Act Statement 2024

This statement is made pursuant to the Modern Slavery Act 2015 ("MSA 2015"), Section 54(1), Part 6. Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, and human trafficking, all of which involve the deprivation of a person's liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.

Serotonin Digital Ltd ("Serotonin Digital", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to preventing acts of modern slavery and human trafficking from occurring within its business and supply chain, and imposes the same high standards on its suppliers.

We believe our people to be our greatest asset. Our principle—to always put the wellbeing of our people first—also applies to the way we engage with our suppliers and clients.

1. Structure of the Organisation

Serotonin Digital Ltd is a digital marketing agency headquartered in Manchester, United Kingdom. We employ a growing team of marketing specialists and work with a wide range of clients across multiple industries, including eCommerce, finance, and hospitality. Our supply chain consists of service providers, technology partners, freelancers, and vendors supplying goods and professional services.

2. Policies

As part of our commitment to combating modern slavery, we continue to review and enhance our Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy. This policy is a mandatory requirement for all employees and ensures that all individuals within our organisation understand and comply with their responsibilities in preventing modern slavery.

In addition to this, we have policies covering grievances, disciplinary actions, and whistleblowing to encourage individuals working for or with us to report concerns without fear of retaliation. These policies are regularly reviewed to maintain their effectiveness.

All employees at Serotonin Digital Ltd are treated fairly and equally and are paid above the national minimum wage. We do not require our employees to work in excess of the legally permitted hours, ensuring compliance with all applicable labour laws.

Our values and culture define the behaviours and expectations we set for our employees, and we strive to maintain the highest standards of conduct across our business.

3. Due Diligence, Risk, and Compliance

Our due diligence procedures are designed to mitigate the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking within our supply chains. Serotonin Digital’s procurement team evaluates all new suppliers to assess their policies and practices regarding modern slavery.

We have implemented a supplier questionnaire to assess suppliers' compliance with anti-slavery legislation. This helps us identify and address potential risks within our supply chain and ensures that our suppliers uphold ethical business practices.

We impose contractual obligations on suppliers to comply with modern slavery laws and reserve the right to terminate agreements if violations are found. If a supplier or client is identified as a higher risk due to their country of operation or inadequate policies, an investigation will be conducted, and further assessments will be undertaken by senior leadership.

To date, we have not identified any suppliers or clients engaging in modern slavery or human trafficking. However, we continue to monitor and improve our due diligence processes to address potential risks proactively.

4. Effectiveness and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

To ensure compliance with our anti-slavery policies, we have designated teams responsible for monitoring adherence to legal requirements, policies, and procedures. As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, these teams review our Ethical Client Policy, Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy, and Whistleblowing Policy annually.

We remain committed to working only with suppliers, clients, and partners who uphold ethical business standards.

5. Training

We invest in educating our employees to recognise and mitigate the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking. Through training programs, employees are encouraged to identify and report any potential concerns relating to modern slavery within our business and supply chains.

All employees are required to complete an online training course and pass a knowledge test on our Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy. This training is refreshed annually to ensure ongoing awareness and compliance.

6. Sign-off

This statement applies to the financial year ending 31st December 2024 and was approved by the Board of Directors on 1st January 2025.
